CAPE: CHILDREN AND PARENTS EDUCATION
Most of the adults in this program are the parents of young people already in our basketball, chess and mentoring programs. CAPE has been running since 2019. It exists because a child's education does not stop with the child, and because a parent who wants to go further with their own reading, writing or study should not have to leave the neighbourhood to do it.
Adults, taught as adults
Grown adults are not put in a children's class. The work is pitched at where each person actually is.
The same families, not strangers
We already know these households. The adults here are the parents of the young people in our other programs.
Free, and close to home
There is no fee. Adult education should not be one more bill, or one more long trip across the borough.
